Igredients
For the cake (for 5 pieces)
2 eggs (egg yolks and egg whites separately)
120 g of sugar
120 g of flour
60 g butter
10 tablespoons of milk
1 tablespoon of bitter cocoa powder
1 tablespoon of rum
1 teaspoon of baking powder
butter to coat the mold
DIRECTIONS
Cake
Preheat the oven to 180° C. Coat the mini ball molds with butter.
In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar until combined. Then add the egg yolks and mix until everything is blended. Alternately, add the milk and flour you previously combined with the baking powder. Gently mix until everything is combined. Finally, add rum to the batter.
Separate the mixture into two equal parts and stir the cocoa powder into one. Beat the egg whites into stiff peaks. Divide it carefully and add it into both mixtures. Spoon a little white mixture into the molds first, then add some cocoa mixture. Mixing the batter in this way, you will achieve a colorful cake. Fill the molds to 2/3 full as the mixture will rise during baking.
Bake for about 25-30 minutes, depending on the oven. You can check if the cake is finished by sticking a toothpick into the dough. If the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is done. Sprinkle the finished cake with powdered sugar or icing of your choice.
