directions
Batter
First, separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. Whisk the egg whites until they form stiff peaks. In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolks with the sugar, and melted butter (or margarine). Then, add the remaining ingredients—flour, baking powder, hazelnuts, rum, and cocoa—into the yolk mixture and mix thoroughly. Finally, gently fold the whipped egg whites into the mixture using a spatula. Pour the batter into a greased baking mold of approximately 20×30 cm and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30 minutes.
Cream
Mix desiccated coconut with sugar in a bowl. Then warm the milk almost to the boil and pour it over a mixture of desiccated coconut and sugar. Stir the mixture to combine and allow it to cool. Beat the heavy cream into a solid cream and prepare the gelatin according to the instructions on the packet. Add the coconut and gelatin to the heavy cream and mix thoroughly. Pour the cream over the cake and decorate it as desired.
