Halloween Chocolate Cupcakes

(18 pieces)

2 eggs
125 g melted butter
250 ml milk
380 g plain flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
150 g brown sugar
30 g cocoa powder
chocolate spread
(according to your wishes Nutella or similar)

Mix first dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, sugar and cocoa powder. In another bowl, mix wet ingredients: eggs, milk and melted butter. It’s best to stir the mixture lightly with a whisk rather than with a hand-held mixer. With a spatula, slowly combine the moist ingredients with the dry ones. Put the paper cups in the cupcakes mould and fill them with a spoon of a mixture. On the top of the mixture, place one teaspoon of chocolate spread and then continue to fill the cups with the remaining mixture. Fill the cups only two-thirds of hight, otherwise, the batter will rise too much out of the mould. Place the cupcakes in a preheated oven at about 190° C for about 20 minutes. Insert a toothpick or the tip of a knife in a cupcake to check if they are baked enough. If they came out dry, the cupcakes are done.

Decorate as desired with butter, whipped cream or melted chocolate. You can give an interesting colour to whipped cream using edible food colouring. You can also create interesting figurines of Ticino mass or marzipan.
